Synapse Dynamics LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Fundamentals Social mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you register for an account, we collect:

Email address and provider account identifier (via Google or Apple sign-in, including an Apple private relay address when selected)
Display name, handle, and profile information
Profile photos (if you choose to upload them)

Content You Create

Posts, comments, and replies you share
Photos, videos, and voice recordings you choose to upload
Direct messages and community messages you send

Usage Information

Device information (device type, operating system)
App interactions and usage analytics, including device and app-instance identifiers and approximate region derived from network information
Crash reports and performance data
Push notification registration tokens, which can be generated and stored for a signed-in account even if notification display permission is off

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain our Service
Deliver notifications about likes, comments, follows, and messages
Improve and personalize your experience
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
Comply with legal obligations

4. Device Permissions

We may request the following permissions so you can use core features:

Camera and microphone: take or record photo and video posts and record community voice messages
Photo library: upload profile photos and media
Location (optional): attach an approximate location to a post when you choose
Notifications: deliver likes, comments, follows, and message alerts

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. We use Firebase Analytics for usage measurement, Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, and App Check with Play Integrity on Android to help protect the Service from abuse. These services process app/device identifiers, diagnostic information, and integrity signals. Turning off notification permission prevents notification display; it does not disable these services. The Android release disables advertising identifier collection and advertising personalization signals.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Public Content: Posts, comments, and profiles you create are visible to other users according to product features
Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) for hosting, authentication, storage, messaging, analytics, crash diagnostics, and abuse prevention
Identity Verification: When you choose to verify your identity, limited data is processed by Stripe Identity
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

You have the right to:

Access and download your personal data
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your account and associated data
Opt out of push notifications in Settings

You can delete your account in the app or use our account deletion page if you no longer have access to the app. When deletion completes, we remove your profile and associated content, your direct-message conversations (including messages from other participants), and communities you own (including their members’ content). Other communities remain, with your authored messages, reactions, and membership removed. A deletion that is interrupted can be retried. We retain a private deletion-operation record to finish interrupted cleanup and prevent continued access; it includes account references and cleanup status. Transaction records required for payment, disputes, fraud prevention, tax, or accounting may also remain, with account identifiers removed where possible. Payment and identity providers may retain records under their own legal obligations. Contact us for details about retained records and applicable retention periods.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must confirm they meet the minimum age during signup.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
